He was predeceased by: his parents, Mary Bryant Rogers and Pete Rogers, Sr.; his wife Elizabeth Gloria Craig-Rogers; his son Rodney Rogers; and his siblings, Pete, Jr., Jesse James, Benjamin Franklin, George Carver, Cecil Evans, William "Bill" Rogers, Elizabeth Kilpatrick, Louvenia Coad, Mary Ellen Boykin and Juanita Ransom.
He is survived by: his sons, Louis Thomas Rogers Jr. (Net) of Tennessee and Douglas Edward Rogers of Alabama; and his grandchildren, Samantha Rogers-Baugh (Damon), Curtis Rogers (Heather), Elizabeth Elaine Rogers-Phillips (James), Jasmine Rogers, Kerry Rogers (Ariel), Kevin Rogers (Mayra) and Alic Rogers. He is also survived by twelve great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many close friends.
