She was predeceased by: her parents, Tom Bell Johnson and Gertrude Gordon Johnson; and her brother Tom Baker Johnson. She is survived by: her son Matthew Cates (Kasey Lynn) of Santa Fe; her grandchildren, Summer Cates, Brantley Cates and Westin Alderson; her siblings, Nancy Coghlan (Tom) of Columbia, Doris Hossbach (Bill) of Columbia, Cummins Johnson (Frances) of Franklin and S. I. Johnson (Nancy) of Portland, TN; and her sister-in-law Patsy Johnson of Williamsport. She is also survived by six nieces and nephews, 13 great nieces and nephews, one great great nephew, and many good friends.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
