He was predeceased by: his parents, Eugene Thompson, Sr. and Lena Peterson Thompson; and his brothers, Eugene Thompson, Jr., Elliot Thompson and Michael Thompson.
He is survived by: his wife Betty Thompson of Columbia; his daughters, LaSonya Thompson of Franklin, TN, Sherronda Thompson of Cleveland, TN, Yolanda Thomspon of Boston, MA and LaTosha Thompson of Spring Hill, TN; his stepchildren, Natasha Nicholson of Columbia, TN and Brian Todd (Tiffany) of Decatur, IL; his sisters, Edna Thompson of Stanton, TN, Margaret Thompson of Memphis, TN and Flozell Harwell (Grover) of Stanton, TN; his grandchildren, Andrew Thompson and Somber "Ovy" Thompson (Kaylie); his stepgrandson Brendon Tanner; and his great grandchildren, Katalina Thompson and Greyson Davis. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.
