He was predeceased by: his parents, John Mansfield Rush and Freda Aileen Dooley Rush. He is survived by: his wife Norma Jean; his sons, John W. Rush, Jr. (Lisa) of Lebanon, TN and Randy Rush (Angie) of Watertown, Wisconsin; his granddaughters, Olivia Rush of Lebanon, TN and Jessica Rush of Watertown, Wisconsin; his sister Dorothy Burks; and his close friends, Doris Jackson (late Commie Jackson), Dorina Jackson, Emi Jackson, Wade, Katie Matheny, Danny Gipson, Clara Wells and Shelia Johnson.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in Shorty's name to the Michael J. Fox foundation for Parkinson's Research.
