He is survived by: his wife Patty Wright Hamilton of Columbia; his sons, John Hamilton (Frances) of Jackson, Jim Hamilton (Beth) of Columbia and Cheyenne McNeese (Jennifer) of Columbia; his brothers, Tom Hamilton (Beth) of Selmer and Mike Hamilton of Tennessee; and his grandchildren, John Travis Hamilton, William Hamilton, Brennan McNeese and Chloe McNeese.
