James Smithson Obituary
We are sad to announce that on September 7, 2021, at the age of 98, James Smithson (Columbia, Tennessee) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Johnny Elmer and Alma Rummage Smithson; his grandparents, Algie and Ida Rummage; his wife Virginia Lovett Smithson; his children, Gayle Benderman (Larry) of Columbia, Ronnie Smithson (Kathleen) of Columbia, Martha Davis of Hernando, Bill Smithson (Wanda) of Leoma, Emily Panter (Lionel) of McMinnville, Larry Smithson (Kathy) of Columbia, Carol Dickey (Jerry) of Columbia and Mary Kay Smithson; and his brother Howard Smithson. He was also cherished by thirteen grandchildren; twenty-two great grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren, plus a great-great grandson.
