He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Freeland Parrish and Annie Mai Hamlin Parrish; his wife Mary Ruth Davis; and his brother Charles W. Parrish. He is survived by: his caregiver James Paul Parrish; his granddaughters, Gretchen Nicole Hampton (Aaron) of Columbia and Sarah Blue of Murfreesboro; and his great grandchildren, John Jurel Blue IV (Calvin), Jesse Wade Hampton, Marianne Ruth Hampton, Luke Arnton Hampton and Kathryn Grace Hampton.
