With heavy hearts, we announce the death of James Byrd (Columbia, Tennessee), who passed away on July 8, 2019 at the age of 89. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Eldridge Byrd, Sr. and Virginia Lee Byrd; his wife Beverly Steakley Byrd; his son Danny Byrd; his brother Paul Eldridge Byrd, Jr.; and his nephew Harry L. Byrd, Sr..
He is survived by: his nephew Jimmie Paul Byrd (Patty) of Columbia; his nieces, Kathy Slaughter of Spring Hill and Sherri L. Wallace (Tony) of Chapel Hill; and his sister-in-law Ruthanne S. Byrd of Columbia.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Safe Place for Animals (SPA), 905 Mallard Dr. Gallatin, TN 37066.
