He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Childress and Bessie Smith Childress; his son Jimmy Childress; and his siblings, Cecile Chupp, James Childress and Robert Childress.
He is survived by: his sons, Mark and Bobby Childress; his grandchildren, LeAnne (Robert), Chance, Brandy, Sherry, Nathan, Cody, Ben, Christine and Ashley; and his daughter-in-law Judy Childress. He is also survived by several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
