He was predeceased by: his parents, James Johnson and Exie Johnson; his wife Maebelle Johnson; his son Lee Johnson; and his siblings, William A. Johnson, Mildred Mayhew (Eddie) and Esther Murphy (Skinner).
He is survived by: his children, Dean Johnson (Pam) of Columbia, TN, Lewis Johnson of Columbia, TN and Lavana Deal (Rex); his brother Morris Johnson (Mary) of Columbia, TN; his grandchildren, Darla Bartee (Brian), Zach Deal, Justin Deal and William Johnson; his great grandchildren, Kaylee, Abby, Maddie, Izzy and Nathan Bartee; and his sister-in-law Helen Johnson of Nashville, TN. He is also survived by several step-children, step-grandchildren, step-great grandchildren and many nieces & nephews.
Memorials may be made to Mt. Lebanon Cumberland Presbyterian Church or to Maury County Habitat for Humanity.
