She was predeceased by: her parents, Paul Ummel and Phoebe Ummel (Brenneman); her spouse Rev. Glenn Harness; and her sister Miriam Belt. She is survived by: her children, Marcia Daugherty (Michael) of Columbia, TN and Mark Harness (Suzette) of Punta Gorda, FL; and her brother J. Wesley Ummel (Joan) of Little Rock, AR. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 1 great-grandson.
In lieu of flowers, Helen requested that donations be sent to Grace Children's Hospital in Haiti, "so that children may live.".
