He was predeceased by: his parents, Charlie Eugene Culberson and Christine Warren Culberson; his wives, Arlene LaRue Culberson and Lossie Johns Culberson; his son Kim Fowler Culberson; and his siblings, Gene Culberson, Sara Culberson and Ruthie Pearl Wiley.
He is survived by: his children, Donna Cosey (Bill) of Columbia, Joyce Crafton of Columbia, Floyd Culberson (Theresa) of Hohenwald, Teresa Culberson of Columbia, Michael Culberson (Mary) of Columbia and Ricky Culberson of Lewisburg. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren, and twenty great grandchildren.
In 2011, Fowler and other team members were honored with an invitation to the Bristol Motor Speedway's 50th anniversary, where he was interviewed for his contributions to racing history.
