He was predeceased by: his parents, Harlan Stanfill and Minnie Hill Stanfill; his children, Donald Wesley Stanfill and Patricia Lynn Hinton; his grandson Donald Wesley Stanfill, Jr.; and his sisters, Mabel Poteet, Clara Peach, Edna Cobb and Lula Potts.
He is survived by: his spouse Shirley Ann Fitzgerald Stanfill; his children, William "Billy" Stanfill (Misty Sullivan) of Columbia and Deborah Stanfill Reeves (James) of Chapel Hill; his siblings, Harlan Stanfill, Jr. (Joyce), Rachel Potts and Marie Potts (Zelbert); and his grandchildren, Christy Stapleton (Adam), Kelly Gillespie (Joey), Kassey James, Tara Stanfill, Darrell Hinton (Holly), Tres, Robbie Love and Brandy Phelps (James). He is also survived by twenty great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren.
