He was predeceased by: his father Robert Gear; and his brother Robert Gear. He is survived by: his wife Dee Gear; his sons, Donn Gear (Teressa), Mike Gear (Kelley) and Dan Gear; his grandchildren, Michael Gear, Camille Gear, Duke Gear, Juliet Gear and Samantha Gear; and his brother Harry Gear. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a memorial donation be made to Alzheimer's of Tennessee.
