He was predeceased by: his parents, Claude Maynard Howell, Sr. and Alverta Pugh Howell; his son-in-law Samuel "Hawk" Holcomb, Jr.; his great grandchild Clara Howell; and his siblings, Verlene (George "Shorty" Downs), Marguerite (Larry Sleen) and Joyce (Jim Jones).
He is survived by: his spouse Camille King; his children, Donna Allen (Bob), Bob Howell (Barbara), Marilyn Holcomb and Maynard Howell (Joy); and his grandchildren, Joel, Kristy, Mark, Meggin, Robert, Wendy, Michael, Hawk, Melissa, Camille, Brian, Brad, Katelyn and Jolie. He is also survived by many great-grandchildren, several great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
