He was predeceased by: his mother Karla Akin Thornburg. He is survived by: his children, Karla Beth and Charles Joseph "CJ" Thornburg; his father James F. Thornburg, Jr. (Gale); and his brothers, Donald Thornburg (Carol Holt) and Adam Jason Thornburg (Nichole Akins). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews; and great nieces and great nephews.
