He was predeceased by: his parents, Russell Schmidt and Phyllis Schmidt. He is survived by: his wife Vicki Futrell Schmidt of Collierville, TN; his sons, Russ Schmidt (Natalie) of Hernando, MS, Billy Futrell (Sonya) and Cú Ruadh of Asheville, NC; his grandchildren, Brianna, Alex, Zack, Emma Jane, James, Logan and Thomas; and his brothers, Robert Schmidt of Kingston, TN and Craig Schmidt (Linda) of Hayes, VA. He is also survived by five nieces and two nephews.
