She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Lloyd Franklin Moore (Bud) and Audrey Wilma Jordon Moore; her grandparents, James and Ida Jordan; her great-great-grandparents, William F and Nancy Stoker Moore; her husband Benjamin Gaither Daugherty, Jr.; her siblings, Charles William Moore and Betty Moore Williams; her grandson Matthew Burnette Daugherty; her son Benjamin Gaither Daugherty, III (Peggy Burnette Daugherty); her grandchildren, Benjamin Gaither Daugherty, IV and Whitney Wheeler Daugherty; and her sister Anita Sue Harrell. She was also cherished by two great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in memory of Mary E. Daugherty to St Jude's Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.
