He was predeceased by: his parents, Vondrell Sledd and Minnie Sledd; and his sisters, June Hertell and Louise Burt. He is survived by: his wife Susan Sledd; his children, Aaron Sledd (Leigh), Kyle Sledd (Susan) and Lindsay Sledd; his grandchildren, Garner Sledd, Wrenn Sledd, Sloane Sledd, Harper Sledd, Daisy Downs and Hudson Downs; his brother Seldon Sledd (Barbara); his nephews, Scot Sledd, Chad Sledd, Chuck Vincent, Keith Hertell, Kevin Hertell, Jeff Hertell and Matt Hertell; his niece Denyse Vincent; and his brother-in-law Jerry Burt.
