He was predeceased by: his parents, John Spain and Rose Spain; and his brother Robert "Bob" Spain. He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Crowder Spain; his children, Sheila Spain Miller (Timothy) and Alan J. Spain (Delisa); his grandchildren, Morgan Black (Josh), Briaunna Bonicelli (Christian) and Aiden Miller; and his siblings, Phillis Smith and James F. Spain (Barbara). He is also survived by three great-grandchildren.
