He was predeceased by: his parents, John Spellings Everett, Sr. and Marjorie Craig Everett. He is survived by: his wife Dawn Everett; his children, John Everett III (Corey Chism), Greg Everett (Holly), Sara Ford (Ben), Brooke Greene (Jeremy), Tyler Muesch (Amy) and Hannah Furr (Andrew); his grandchildren, Cate, Benjamin, Amelia Ford, Emery, Molly Greene, Max and Jude Muesch; and his sisters, Margie Craig Nelson (Brian) and Ruth Ellen "Fel" Morrison (Jimmy).

In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial contributions be made to MIFA (Metropolitan Inter-Faith Association) or the Memphis Zoo.
