He was predeceased by: his parents, Gus "Tank" Richardson and Lizzie Mae "Hera" Richardson; his wife Gertha Mae Richardson; his sister Christine Smith (Joseph Lee); his nephew Myron Smith; and his cousin Otis Salton.
He is survived by: his brother Michael Richardson; his children, Sandra Richardson McNeal, Evelyn Richardson, Sarah Hamer (Troy), Johnny Yancy and Gregory Alston (Tonya); his grandchildren, Daniele Richardson (Pooh), Tralyssa Hamer (Leesa), Khadijah Richardson (Miss Colleen), Brendon McNeal and Montavious Alston; and his great grandchildren, Cordell Richardson and Royal Alston. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
