He was predeceased by: his parents, Margaret Zanone Nelson and Edward James Nelson, Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Lynn Parker Nelson; his sons, Edward James Nelson, IV and Henry Parker Nelson, Sr. (Lindsey); his grandchildren, Nora of Collierville, Jimmy of Collierville and Hank of Collierville; and his siblings, Laurie Nelson of Cincinnati, Nancy Nelson of Cincinnati and David E. Nelson (Donna) of Collierville. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Memorials are requested in lieu of flowers, and two suggestions follow.
