She was predeceased by: her parents, Frank Herold and Agatha Herold; her former husband Dale Raymond Somers; and her husband Lloyd Ping. She is survived by: her children, Dale "Rob" Somers (Sue), Dianne Somers Ward (Tom), Daryl Somers (Jeanna), Dwight Somers, David Somers (Cherice) and Duane Somers. She is also survived by thirteen grandchildren; and twenty great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions be made to the American Cancer Society or to 3ABN in honor of Dorothy and Dale Somers.
