He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilson Carter and Maggie Morris Carter; his wife Brenda Janet Carter; and his siblings, James Carter, Ruby Fentress, Libby Lucas and Hazel Lucas.
He is survived by: his son Stephen Carter (Donna); and his brothers, Larry Carter and Howard Carter. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
