He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Sanders and Mildred Sanders; his former wife Mary Magdalene Sanders; his son Ransie Whitman; and his siblings, David Sanders, Lee Sanders, Janie Nunley and Frances Tate.
He is survived by: his wife Jona Sanders; his son Renzo Whitman (Rolanda); his grandchildren, Jonathan, Olivia, Garrett, Ciara and Braxton; and his siblings, Sue Meeks (Leroy), Mae Sanders, Shirley Sanders, Jean Campbell, Loretta Cantrell, Joe Sanders (Shirley) and Gary Sanders. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
