He was predeceased by: his parents, John Rivers and Ellen Rivers; his siblings, Clayton, Bill Rivers and Shelby Jackson (J. T. Jackson); and his siblings-in-law, Howard Finch of Pete McCarroll, J. D, David Phipps, Mary Burfield and Debbie Mayton.
He is survived by: his wife Susie; his siblings, Peg Sands (Frank) and David "Moe" Rivers (Melody); and his siblings-in-law, Linda Rivers, Caroline Rivers, Corrine Finch, Norma Black (Jerry), Erma McCarroll, Marlene Mayton, Teresa Phipps, Carl "Buddy" Mayton (Sylvia), Doug Burfield, Paul Mayton (Marjorie), Steve Mayton (Donna) and Phillip Mayton. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and their children as part of his family.
Visitation was held on Monday, November 11th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the New Life Baptist Church (510 Devonia St, Harriman, TN 37748). A funeral service was held on Monday, November 11th 2024 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Tuesday, November 12th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Davis Cemetery (121 Jimmy Justice Rd, Oliver Springs, TN 37840).
