He was predeceased by: his mother Joann Taylor (Phillips); his stepfather Johnny Taylor; his siblings, J. D., Randal Phillips and Darlus Phillips; his nieces, Amanda Reeves and Shelby Sharp; his nephew Justin Keen; and his brother-in-law David Moorehead.
He is survived by: his siblings, Denny Phillips (Gina) of Clinton, Barbara Kunst of Rogersville, Pat Sharp (Gary) of Clinton, Connie Fain (Bobby) of Clinton and Linda Keen (Glen) of Heiskell; his nieces and nephews, Kathy Haun, Brandi Harness, Brittney Armstrong, Jason Sharp, Jeremy Keen and Michael Moorehead; his great-niece Brianna Haun; his great-nephews, Tyler Sharp, Jacob Haun and Adam Sharp; and his stepson Jeff Fischer.
In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations to be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital in memory of Troy Phillips.
