He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Guy Fortney and Grace Douglas Fortney; his wife Betty Ruth Gurley Fortney; and his brother Ray Douglas Fortney. He is survived by: his children, Robert Douglas Fortney (Jerelynn Fortney), Thomas Guy Fortney, III of Nashville, TN, Ruth Ellen Fortney Hafner (Joseph Hafner), Richard Lee Fortney (Ellen Fortney) and William Beck Fortney (Pamela Fortney). He is also survived by 10 grandchildren; and 19 great grandchildren.
