He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Lawson and Opal Jewel Portwood; and his brother Larry Lawson. He is survived by: his sister Carolyn Portwood; and his daughters, Judy Lawson, Edwina Sorrells, Rebecca Lawson, Brenda Lawson and Elizabeth Kelley. He is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Tom's name to the Ben Atchley State Veterans' Home in Knoxville, Tennessee, a cause close to his heart and that of his family.
