He was predeceased by: his mother Lyda Smelcher; his sister Geniva Christine (Eileen Smelcher); his brother-in-law Eldon Miracle; and his son-in-law Ron Brummitt Sr.. He is survived by: his siblings, Jim Smelcher and Louise Miracle; his children, Terry Smelcher (Danette), Sherry Brummitt, Michael Smelcher, John Winters (Judy) and Tim Winters (Heather); his grandchildren, Angie, Chip, Kristie, Ronald, Ashley, Patrick, Gabrielle and Ty; his great grandchildren, Matt, Emma, Annabelle of Lulu, TJ, Savannah and Dakota; and his wife Eileen.
