He was predeceased by: his parents, Truman Prater and Dorothy Shelby Prater; his sister Lenora Sweat; his son Kent Prater; and his wife Pamela Gibson Prater.
He is survived by: his significant other Darlene Wilson; his daughter Kellie Armetta; the mother of his child Patsy Prim Prater; his children, Tammara Hall (Bruce Hale) and Greg Hall (Ivy); his grandchildren, Chelsea Rousseau (Rhett), Josh Armetta, Crystal Holstine (Devon Smith), Dalton, Dallin, Raven Hall and Ocha Adkins; his great grandchildren, Rhys, Jordis, Jace, Noah, Adleigh, Kyce Rousseau and Joseph Smith; and his siblings, Robert Prater, Ramona Kimmel, Lena Bailey and Donna Overton. He is also survived by many cousins and close friends.
