He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Thomas Evans Barr and Cornelia Sessions Barr; his parents, Jesse Coleman Barr and Arlen Shaffer Barr; his sisters, Annie Blanch Barr and Sandra Barr Lewellen Keller; and his daughter Sarah Barr Szot.

He is survived by: his wife Dianne Barr; his daughter Anne Barr Teasley of Knoxville, TN; his grandchildren, Abby Teasley of Atlanta, GA, Amanda Teasley of Nashville, TN and Jonathan Szot of Cleveland, Mississippi; his stepdaughter Kim (Matt Matthews); his grandson Harrison Matthews of Mt Juliet, TN; his siblings, Edna Depriest (Joe Depriest) of Clarksville, TX, Bobby Barr (Judy Barr) of Greenville, MS and Terry Barr (Donna Barr) of Oak Ridge, TN.; and his nieces and nephews, David, Brian Depriest of Texas, Robert Barr of Colorado, Michael Lewellen of Tennessee, Leslie Simpson of Tennessee, Jessica Barr Seale, Teresa Barr Welch of Mississippi and Angie Barr Gresham of Alabama.
