He was predeceased by: his parents, Virgil Sr. Rains and Maude Rains of Clinton; and his siblings, Mary Nell Joslin, Margie, Virgil, Jr. and Bill.
He is survived by: his wife Joyce Rains; his children, Leora Wallace (Greg) and Brock Rains (Terri); his grandchildren, David Rains (Amber), Christopher Rains (Amanda), Chrissy Burton and Dustin Manning; his brothers, Eddie (Drina) and Lynn Rains (Celia); his stepchildren, Rita White, Donna Cox (Howard), Jeff Cook (Roxanne) and Todd Cook (Amanda); and his stepgrandchildren, Josh White (Minda), Nic White (Lacey), Casey Spradlin (Megan), Eli Cox, Jesse Morgan (John), Isaac Cook, Jonah Cook (Shelby), Cooper Cook, Bryson Cook, Lily Rucker and Addison Rucker.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Alzheimer's Association Tennessee Chapter in Jack's memory.
