He was predeceased by: his parents, George Purcell and Violet Purcell (Rhea); and his brother Johnny Purcell. He is survived by: his son Troy Purcell; his daughter-in-law Lara Purcell; his grandsons, Luke and Eli Purcell; his siblings, Eddie Purcell and Jackie Longmire; and also Patricia Cappiello.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Gene's chosen charities of St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital and/or the Wounded Warrior's Foundations.
