He was predeceased by: his son William "Kyle" Thornton; his parents, William "Bill" Thornton and Dollie Thornton; his son Willie Egbert; and his siblings, Wendell Thornton and Mable Ruth Thornton.
He is survived by: his wife Brenda Thornton; his daughter Sonya Keith (Jerry); his granddaughter Breana Egbert; his daughter-in-law Esther Egbert; and his brothers, Ben Thornton (Carolyn), Larry Thornton (Tina) and Billy Thornton. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
