He was predeceased by: his wife Mom; and his parents, Charlie Hooks and Myrtle Hooks. He is survived by: his sister Ida Mae Bryant (Virgil); his children, Reverend Owen "Bubby" Hooks (Teresa), David Hooks, Luther Hooks, Janice Lloyd, Jenny Sue Hooks, Brenda Thornton (Gary), Mary Painter (Joe) and Edye Law (Brian); his friend Doris Duncan Hooks; his grandchildren, Jonathan Lloyd, Benjamin Lloyd (Nicole), Joshua "JJ" Hooks, Johnny Hooks, Tammy Cox Crystal Ryan (Josh), Sonya Keith (Jerry), Kyle Thornton, Melinda Phillips (Justin), Joshua Jillson (Jessica), Jonah Jillson and Bethany Jillson; and his close friends, Reverend Roy Hamock, Reverend Oscar Patterson, Travis Poore and Deanna Hayes. He is also survived by several great-grandchildren.
