He was predeceased by: his wife Janet Hudson; his father Paul Hudson; his brother-in-law Art Austin; his aunt Peggy; and his uncle Don Ruchotzke.

He is survived by: his son Richard Hudson (Kim); his stepchildren, Mitch Nichols (Heather) and Lisa Tate; his mother Betty Ray Hudson; and his siblings, Sid Hudson (Cynthia) and Kay Austin. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
