He was predeceased by: his parents, Ruth Witt Clayton and Reverend Clyde Thomas Clayton; and his siblings, Bobbie Clayton Berry, Ova Lee Clayton Yates, Mary Jo Clayton Wright and David Clayton.

He is survived by: his brother Jack Clayton; his wife Glenda Hannah Clayton; his children, Kristie Clayton Taylor (Jamie) and Thomas Matthew Clayton (Ashley Turner Clayton); and his grandchildren, Ben Taylor, Sam Taylor, Turner Clayton, Lily Taylor and Harper Clayton. He is also survived by extended family and friends.
