She was predeceased by: her parents, Lena Young and Virgil Young; and her former husband Warren N. Samples Sr.. She is survived by: her husband Steve Herndon; her sister Jeanie Hodge; her children, Warren "Ike" Samples Jr. (Stephanie), Pamela Samples Hodgson (Neil) and Michael Samples (Janni); her grandchildren, Wendy Whitlock (Dan), Ashley Clay (Todd) and Haley Rouche'; her great grandchildren, Blake Odum, Jacob McDaniel, Cameron McDaniel, Emery Whitlock, Elon Whitlock and Annabelle Henry; and her great great grandchildren, Hunter Odum and Luke Odum. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
