She was predeceased by: her parents, John Henry Bacon Sr. and Grover Gladys Howie Bacon; her husband Charles Ray Smith Sr.; her siblings, John Henry Jr., George, William T., James Bacon, Josephine Billingsley and Charlene Snell; and her niece Deborah Blair.
She is survived by: her children, Sherry Hooker, Tony Bacon (Renee), Earl Smith, Charles "Buster" Smith, Anna Broomfield (LaRanze) and Paul Smith Sr.; and her grandchildren, Angela Young, Sharon McFeders, Kevin Hooker, Kimberly Arkley (Andrew), Jamaal Bacon (Erika), Sharyse Griffin (Edward), Tia Bacon, Pamela Marie Sanchez, Chiquila Snowden, Adriel Snowden (Shernita), Paul Smith Jr. and Amarionna Smith. She is also survived by twenty-five great grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren, along with a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
