She was predeceased by: her parents, Terry W. Tarkington Sr. and Virginia Eason Tarkington of Chattanooga; her husband Eugene Thompson of Cleveland, TN; and her siblings, Terry Wesley Tarkington, Jr. of Florence, AL. and Virginia Miller of McDonald, TN..

She is survived by: her children, Lucy Elaine Thompson Steinle (Alan) and Eugene Wesley Thompson (Ruby); her grandchildren, Amy Elizabeth Mendenhall (Josh), Jenna Alaine Ospina (Cristhian), Travis Wesley Thompson (Sophie), Kalan Dean Steinle (Lana) and Hollan Victoria Stiles (Blake); and her great grandchildren, Jeremiah Wesley Thompson, Lakan Dean Steinle, Chloe Faye Thompson, Kolter Bryan Steinle, Landry Gene Steinle, Bendt Eldin Stiles, Malaya Ann Thompson, Wesley Monroe Stiles, Lily Beth Thompson, Johan Cris Ospina and Avenlee Ruth Stiles. She is also survived by seven nieces, two nephews, and nine great nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, January 14th 2025 from 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM at the Mount Carmel Cemetery (7578 Blue Springs Rd, Cleveland, TN 37311). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, January 14th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church (7619 Blue Springs Rd, Cleveland, TN 37311). A burial was held on Tuesday, January 14th 2025 at 3:15 PM at the Mt. Carmel Cemetery (7578 Blue Springs Rd, Cleveland, TN 37311).

The family asks that memorials be given to Mt. Carmel Baptist Church Sign Fund.
