With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Lonnie Eugene Gates of Cleveland, Tennessee, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on February 14, 2025. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Lonnie Gates and Edith Gates; and his siblings, Benny Gates, Janet Gates, Maurice Gates, Everett Gates, Freda Wilson and Millie Gamble.
He is survived by: his wife Dot Gates; his son Wesley Gates; his grandchildren, Morgan Gates and Christia Reagan (Avery); his great grandchildren, Kenzlie and Everest; his brothers, George Gates (Diane), Lawrence Gates and Charles Gates; his sisters-in-law, Wilma Rudd (Hugh) and Anna Lee Gates; and his friends, Terry, John Loche, Verbin Burgess and Sabrina Matthews. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, February 18th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the JIM RUSH FUNERAL HOME WILDWOOD AVENUE CHAPEL (220 Wildwood Ave, Cleveland, TN 37311). A celebration of life was held on Wednesday, February 19th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the JIM Rush Funeral and Cremation Services (220 Wildwood Ave, Cleveland, TN 37312).
