It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Larry Cate of Cleveland, Tennessee, born in Rossville, Georgia, who passed away on November 14, 2024, at the age of 72, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph Cate and Beatrice Redd Cate; his brothers, Carl Cate, Charlie Cate and Donnie Ray Cate; his half-sister Virginia Cate Salvage (Vergie); his parents-in-law, Clyde and Lola Buckner; and his brothers-in-law, Charles Buckner, Jack Buckner, David Buckner, Edward, William Redd and Douglas McClure.
He is survived by: his wife Kathy Buckner Cate; his son Jeffrey Wayne Cate; his daughter-in-law Cayci Corvin; his grandson-in-law John Corvin; his siblings, Bill Cate (Joyce), Ronnie Eugene Cate (Cora), Jerry Cate, Betty Jo Bowman, Mary Louise Anderson and Marvin; and his sisters-in-law, Ethel Slaughter, Reba Cate, Hazel Redd, Charlotte McClure, May Buckner and Margaret Buckner. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, extended family members and special friends.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, November 19th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Calendar Companion Funeral Home "ridge Chapel" (2412 Georgetown Rd NW, Cleveland, TN 37311). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, November 19th 2024 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Tuesday, November 19th 2024 from 4:30 PM to 5:00 PM.
