He was predeceased by: his parents, Estelle Sledge Hale and Elmer Herman Hale; his children, Linda Kay White, Sandra Charlene Hale, Harold Lee Hale, Paul Allen Hale and Carl Russell Hale; and his brothers, James Wesley Hale, Raymond Hale and Rodney Hale.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley May Smith; his daughters, Teresa Johnson and Martha Elaine Hale; and his siblings, Wanda Weaver of Georgia, Elizabeth Thomas of Georgia, Sue Whitaker of Georgia, Robert Hale and Roy Hale. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren.
