He was predeceased by: his former wife Jewell Barger Gobble; his grandchildren, Addison Jewell and Grant Steven Gobble; his great grandchild Hayes Matthew Dodson; his parents, Clyde Gobble and Lucile Taylor Gobble; his grandparents, James L., Ellen Trotter Gobble and Clementine Felker Taylor, Sr.; and his brothers, Harry Gobble (Vera Grantham Gobble) and Joe Gobble (Robbie Withrow Gobble).
He is survived by: his daughter Myra Elizabeth; his son-in-law Stewart Russell Patterson (Rusty) of Athens, TN; his daughter Lisa Lynn; his son-in-law Ian Wayne Harper of Cleveland; his son Kirk Steven; his daughter-in-law Brittney Ann Maples Gobble of Cleveland; his granddaughter Margaret Elizabeth Patterson (Maggie); his great grandchildren, Blythe Elizabeth Dodson and Samuel Hayes Dodson of Dallas, TX; his grandchildren, Molly Katherine Patterson (Kate Ripperger) of Ennis, MT and Britton Samuel Gobble of Cleveland, TN; and his friend Jane Gilliland Giles. He is also survived by sister-in-law.
