He was predeceased by: his parents, Benton T Swaffer and Alice Boone Swaffer; his wife Mary Lynn Carney Swaffer; and his siblings, Charles Ray Swaffer and Alice Rhey Swaffer.

He is survived by: his children, Gary (Kathy), Ann (Rachell) and Mark; his granddaughters, Abbie and Ellie; and his brother Edward Herbert Swaffer. He is also survived by his family and friends.
