She was predeceased by : her husband Jerrold Akin; and her nephew Jody Lee Majors. She is survived by : her granddaughter Nevaeh Cook; her siblings, Lawrence Underwood (Debbie), Nancy Dickson and Maria Underwood; her daughter Jennifer Cook; and her close friend Judy Morrison. She is also survived by several friends and co-workers.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, July 3rd 2024 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home (1209 Madison St, Clarksville, TN 37040). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, July 3rd 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the same location.
