He was predeceased by: his parents, Elva Brake Rives and Florence Mae Reynolds Rives; his wife Margaret Ann Emmett Rives; and his siblings, Alfred Brake Rives, Jerry Wayne Rives, Sr., Edgar D. Rives and Marie Fairweather.
He is survived by: his daughters, Karen Sue Walton (James) and Donna Jean Kindle (Joe); his grandchildren, Kristy, Steven, Trisha, Joey, Christopher and Brittany; his siblings, William A. Rives and Brenda A. Rives Harris; and his significant other Skip. He is also survived by ten great-grandchildren.
