He was predeceased by: his wife Tennie Byard Seay; his parent Frances Seay; his siblings, James Lewis and Marion Johnson; and his son Anthony Seay.
He is survived by: his son Eddie Seay (Beth); his grandchildren, Christopher Seay (Tailor), Terry Seay (Sonny) and Brittney Mathis (Austin); and his sisters, Susie Williams (Fernando) and Louise Quarles. He is also survived by 5 great-grandchildren.
